Clamp style X-End with 624 bearings

thingiverse

To utilize my bearings from the original Mendel effectively, I modified the Aleph Objects X-end clamp to hold a similar bearing arrangement. Removing the motor mount since I prefer a vertically mounted x-axis motor, I added a spot for end stop flags or opto-end stop sensors. Version 1 of this design includes a reusable "top" file for easy interchangeability of motor and rod mounts without copying much code. It also features an additional 624 bearing mount in the "x-end-bearings" file and an m4x30 flag mount on the bottom "x-end-clamp" file. The latest version, dated 2012-01-15, has improved spacing of holes with 40mm between rods, removed one sideways bearing hole, increased the angle of angled bearings to prevent nut collisions (now at 135 degrees), and reduced height for plastic savings. The uploaded SCAD and STL files are always up-to-date. To assemble, print the bearings and clamp pieces twice, replace original Mendel vertical bearings with new ones on the x-axis, adjust end stop flags if needed, and keep original motor mounts in place.
