Classic Aeron Sector Gear

Classic Aeron Sector Gear

thingiverse

A 3D-printable version of the sector gear in the Classic Aeron chair, used to control the tilt adjustment mechanism. Sketched from my broken part. This model is definitely not perfect but it works fine in my chair. Only the oldest chairs use this exact part - newer chairs have a slightly different part with a hole in it for a hook to fit. This part can probably substitute for that part with a minor modification to add such a hole, but I cannot confirm this as I don't own a newer chair. On the original design, the control cord attaches over a post. If the post is 3D printed as part of the model, the plastic will prove flimsy and break if it is inadvertently pulled while under tension. The solution is to insert a self-tapping screw into the raised circular region on the gear, remove it, and reinsert through the control cord.
