At 108 meters tall the Cathedral Of Clermont domininates the sky line of the city of Clermont-Ferrand, a city in central France. Built in the 4th Century out of volcanic stone, the church hosts a variety of festivals and events throughout the year. A Gothic edifice begun in the 13th century. It was not completed, however, till the 19th century, when the west portal and towers and two bays of the nave were added, according to the plans of Violletle-Duc.
