The attached files is one of many solutions you will receive. My starts as this; You walk up to the terminal and place you package in the large opening below the card reader. This area is the maximum size of any package this system would be able to receive. In this area is a digital 3d scanner with a scale platform. It uses 3d scanning technology to digitally measure the package, it also weighs the package. The screen then would prompt the customer for payment options or pin for corporate type accounts based on the findings of the scan. After some calculations and using your current technology, opens the appropriate sized compartment. If the customer places a smaller package in the opening trying to "cheat" the system, this is where the second part comes into play. The drawer that pops open has a hinged lid on it. With the draw fully opened and the lid raised, a micro switch activates a lock at the back of the drawer to hold the drawer open. If the package is to big for the drawer the lid will not close and the lock will not release, only when the micro switch is depressed will the lock mech. release and allow the drawer to close, this should prevent oversized packages. Also with the lid design and function, and the locking bar location, will prevent the drawers and their contents from interfering with the drawer above.
