The landing gear absorbs the shock of rougher landings and spreads the forces onto a point nearer to the middle of the cross. It is spring loaded with common household rubberbands, and cam be clipped on the drone without glue. It can be installed and removed completely without any changes to the drone itself. http://youtu.be/1g4QqWBH1bc UPDATE 01/24/2014 New version of the files now compatible with original parrot parts. You can use spare propeller-pins as axes with original c-clips to secure them. There is also an additional version of the legs where you can use the brass bushings in, if you replaced them with ball bearings, which i highly recommend. Removed 'work in progress' status as this is the final version for now. Instructions You need: 4 steel nails 2mm diameter or original parrot propeller axes a drop of glue or original parrot c-rings maybe a bit of tape or small zip-ties 4 common household rubber rings Print the parts. Put a steel nail, or better a spare propeller axis through the holes in on of the legs and trough the clip that will be clipped on the original landing foots of the drone. if you do not want to use the original brass bushings you should print the v2_no_bushings - leg. The new v2 clip sits more tight that the v1 one on the foot, so it needs some force to clip it on. Be gentle and patient, don't hurt your drone. The footclip should now be mounted inside of the leg. Depending on your print you might want to secure the nail with a drop of glue, or if you are using the original axes secure them with the original c-clips. Run a rubberband through the leg (see picture) and attach both ends of the rubberband to the clip that will be clipped on the arm of the central cross. Twist the rubberband a few times, the more you twist it, the more force the shock absorber will take. Give it a few tries, the amount of tension varies with different rubberbands. Clip the 'arm'-clip onto the ... arm. It should fit tight, but if it slides on the arm secure it with some tape or a small zip-tie..
