CNC 3018 Pro - Wasteboard & Clamps

This is the wasteboard I've made for may 3018 CNC Router. I used a 12mm MDF for this. Added some 4mm blind nuts and attached it to the aluminum base with 4mm screws also. Attached to this are some 3d printed clamps and hold downs. All screws and nuts are 4mm. As pictured, I've added a wire to one of the clamps, this way I can use the Z height probe easily on PCBs. To make the wasteboard I asked a friend with a big router to cut some 12mm MDF in 300x180mm blocks and the rest I did it myself for the fun of it. Bottom side of the wasteboard Waste Board - Bot - Blind Nuts - Holes.svg - Holes for the clamp screws Waste Board - Bot - Blind Nuts - Recess.svg - Recess for the blind nuts Top Side of the wasteboard Waste Board - Top - Hold Down - Holes.svg - Holes for the screws that hold the wasteboard to the aluminum base. Waste Board - Top - Hold Down - Recess.svg - Recess for the screw heads. Measure the screw head height and add 1mm to it so the screw will be at least 1mm lower than the surface. Waste Board - Top - Guides.svg - Simple engraved guides 10mm spaced. I've done this with a V-bit at 0.4 deep pass. ###################################################################### # Please check all measures and positions of the holes before drilling and carving the MDF ###################################################################### There are many 3018 on the market and they are not identical. These measures worked for me and "may" or "may not" work for you, so please check against your aluminum bed before carving and drilling the MDF.
