For my 3018Pro I used the clamp-set from SkyTakes CNC collection (remix source) but when I upgraded to 3040 the clamps were too small for my new wasterboard. (I designed my own and use 6mm inserts in it). I tried remixing SkyTakes clamp, but found it much easier to just re-create it from scratch in Fusion360. The actual clamp is more or less a resized copy, but I did REALLY design the VERY ADVANCED Thumbwheel by myself ;) I use a 6x30mm hex head screw. ** UPDATE ** Modified Thumbwheel (v2) with some spacing against the "roller" so there's no need for washers to get wiggle room.
