Early concept design for a CNC lathe spindle, used the NSK catalog for most of the basic design, plan is to eventually use beam equations to determine deflection of spindle and compare those with FEA results. Rear cylindrical roller bearing is floating to allow for thermal expansion, front cylindrical roller is fixed, angular contact bearings are fixed and take the thrust load.
