CNC long nut box

CNC long nut box

I built this to hold an M8 nut for proper CNC motion using M8 threaded rods. It works fantastic and securely holds the nut in place - placing the base inside the cap is easy (though unnecessary), giving me added peace of mind, especially since I was holding it in place with a vice. This model served perfectly for my X and Y axes, although I did need to use it as the basis for my Y axis since it was slightly taller - no big deal when printing something that's meant to rise. You'll notice these instructions - just remember to print without support at 40% infill. Printing orientation should mirror the process of screwing this box to your heatbed. In my situation, I oriented the base vertically, which came in handy when it was higher than expected - easily removeable layers with a cutter saved the day.
