Design objective: Design a X-Y axis machine that is simple and stiff for cutting 2D profiles in plywood up to 1 inch thick using a standard router. Employ the Maslow Z-axis control technique or manual Z-axis. Must have a cutting envelope of 48x96 inches. Belt and Rack/Pinion drive. Accuracy of +/- 0.015 or better would be good goal. Add dual drive to Y-Axis only if needed.
