. Finally I did it, see video below Functional test, slow speed because it's a stone carving file... After completed my V7 version (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4462424) and began to use it I discovered that belts are prone to stretch, slip and so on at a minimal error of mine (who doesn't do?) even using GT2 belts with iron inside; furthermore I cordially hate belts, since my first printer I always implemented the less infamous T8 lead screws. That said, this is my interpretation of Ooznest OX CNC in T8 form. Changes made: - only three Nema23 now needed - Y axis hidden below thw workplane - moved the two 2060 X axis carriage profiles 20mm to front to align them to X motor - boxed Y carriages, to better protect wheels from dust, chippings and whatever else - use of well known Arduino Uno and CNC shield, cheap and affordable - an SSR relay DC-DC, valid option for direct or PWM drive the spindle motor - X/Y/Z magnetic endstops, not strictly necessary but... - an safety switch that can act as main power switch too - chinese 200W spindle motor 12V 5000RPM / 24V 10000RPM. I bought it because I don't need a more robust one, but you can find a bunch of spindle motors at Aliexpress at reasonable prices. - cooling covers for Nema23, you'll need them for sure - lowered work plane by 20mm, gained in favour of Z axis - changed location of electronic items to back and added an 2040 profile to protect them - vacuum dust collecting system with Neato motor (that of Roomba) - alternative cyclone dust separator, tnx to mgx (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:124551) - optical Z finder, see here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4571246) - 8"-10" tablet support, orientable on 2 axis - an Automatic Tol Changer, see here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4584693) and here Working limits are about X=300mm Y=500mm Z=30mm I provided a laser support too for who loves engraving. Read carefully Ooznest OX CNC Machine (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1684109) and here. Hardware Nema23 If not present, make with a grinder a flat surface 2mm deep on the output rod Vacuum system Uploaded all necessary items to achieve a good vacuum dust collector, you've only to provide an Hepa bag to the outlet of motor. I made use of a Neato (Delta) 12VDC motor, that one present in Roomba; as you can see in attached PDF it make a good job, but at an 3.2A current cost, but hey... Its start is soft and progressive, given the rotor weight, but after seconds it blows like a typhoon! Look for a very flexible 32mm hose. Of course you can use it as a blower, but the air flow is incredible, so pay attention to not spread chippings all around the room! Instructions Y Axis (see picture below) - at exactly the center of 2060x454mm cut away an 25x20mm (HxV) portion of material - at exactly the center of 2060x437mm drill an 10mm hole Feet Glue circular shape 10mm thick rubber pads into feet bottom. Software I'd advise to use Gnea GRBL for compatibility with almost all CAM software around. Read it carefully - decompress GRBL-UNO.ZIP somewhere and copy the resulting grbl_Uno directory into your Arduino IDE libraries directory - run Arduino IDE and set board tyo Arduino Uno - load \libraries\grbl_Uno\examples\grblUpload - flash to board To manage your CNC I'd advice the friendly UniversalGcodeSender (UGS) . I uploaded my own GRBL 1.1f version, ready to be used; you can modify everything there BOM 2040 - n. 1 2040x454mm - n. 1 2040x500mm - n. 1 2040x710mm 2060 - n. 1 2060x200mm - n. 1 2060x437mm (to trim if necwessary) - n. 2 2060x454mm - n. 2 2060x500mm 2080 - n. 2 2080x750mm - n. 12 corner couplers - n. 16 internal 90 degrees couplers wheels - n. 34 Delrin wheels 24mm - n. 30 spacers M5x6mm - n. 34 eccentric spacers M5 - n. 24 washers M5x1mm lead screws - n. 1 T8 lead screw 710mm - n. 1 T8 lead screw 465mm - n. 1 T8 lead screw 220mm - n. 4 T8 lead screw nuts - n. 2 608ZZ bearing - n. 2 8mm lock ring other - n. 1 Arduino Uno + CNC shield - n. 1 power supply 12/24VDC 30A - n. 3 Nema23 - n. 1 SSR relay DC-DC - n. 1 spindle motor OD 52mm, 200W or more, 12-24VDC - n. 1 Chuck Holder ER16 8mm collet - n. 1 spindle collets set 13 pcs - n. 1 Neato fan (refurbished) Aliexpress, optional (see BCB1012UH.PDF included) - n. 1 or 2 5VDC Arduino relay module(s) (optional) - n. 3 40mm fans bearing - n. 2 Transmission Chains 20 x 15mm or bigger - n. 1 wood workplane 706x430x20mm - n. 3 spacers M5x35mm - n. 2 coupler 8mm->8mm - n. 1 flexible coupler 8mm->8mm - n. 3 Hall effect sensors for endstops (optional) - n. 3 8x3mm round Neodimium magnets, if used Hall sensors - screws flat head 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, nuts, as needed - lithium grease - silicone or sewing machine oil Credits Ooznest (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1684109), of course...
