The premiere Cobra battle tank. Exposed gunner and driver behind a glass windscreen, I love how the toy designers had no concern for operator safety. Different turrets to choose from. Versions 1 and 2 are a 'remote control' style I made up, the difference being barrel elevation. Version 3 is the actual turret but the person operating the gun only looks okay (IMO). People are difficult to model using the software I use. Version 4 is the same as #3 without the gunner. You only need one turret for the tank. The body and tread assembly are going to be a tight fit when printed. I wanted to make absolutely sure there was no air gap between them or the model would look bad. You might need to file the pieces a little first to get them to fit right. This model was drawn using my original toy and a pair of 6 inch calipers. Although the file was created full scale, I modeled it so that it was optimized when printed at 25%. Unless you stay in that range it may have too much or too little detail. *Update 2/2018 - I have posted a more detailed version of this tank, called Cobra HISS Arctic (GI Joe). The turret for this model will fit on the upgraded chassis. Much respect and gratitude to the men and women of our Armed Forces (past and present).
