The Cobra Sea Rattler from the GI Joe comic book issue #36 I read when I was a kid in the 80s. This was never a toy in the lineup so I estimated this model from pictures in the comic book. I did change/customize this somewhat by replacing the center missiles with three torpedoes, but with a little extra effort you can switch them back if you want. As usual, intended to be printed at 25%. If you make it a different size it may have too much or too little detail. This model is derived from the original Rattler model I published a few years ago with one important difference - see below. If you decide to download this, keep these files separated from the standard model Rattler as they are not necessarily interchangeable. My finished model weighs 19 grams so it cost me about 40 cents for the material to print each one. This file is free to download. Note that it is listed as non-commercial because this was copied from intellectual property that I do not own. As such neither you nor I are allowed to sell physical copies of this 3-D model. You are allowed (and encouraged) to print copies for your own personal use. ‘Makes’ are appreciated. I made a few changes to the air frame. I always print at 25% and the wings on mine break off a lot (and that is very annoying). I came up with two solutions: 1.) The wings are still separate pieces. However I lengthened the bomb/missile plate which should now overlap the wing joint and give the glue a little more surface area to hold. See red circles. The pontoons glue over the top and help lock it all in place. 2.) I made a version with three pieces [wings and air body] combined into one. Downside is that you don't have the option to assemble with the wings in VTOL mode but at least they won't ever break. Much respect and gratitude to past and present members of our Armed Forces.
