Cockspur Island Lighthouse at Low Tide

sketchfab

3D digital heritage survey of the lighthouse at Cockspur Island, Fort Pulaski, Georgia – a collaboration between the University of South Florida Libraries (Digital Heritage and Humanities Collections), the National Park Service (NPS) and the Southeast Archeological Center (SEAC). This survey, conducted in 2018, recorded conditions of this imperiled site with data used to create metrological models, GIS assessments, and sectional analyses. Terrestrial laser scanning, photogrammetry and GPS data were collected as part of this effort. The 3D landscape data is shown with modeled low tide levels to indicate areas under water. At high tide, the complete island is underwater, sometimes higher then the entrance door to the lighthouse.
