This is a simple device to keep bugs and dust out of your drink. It snaps onto many types of plastic cups, e.g. those shown in photo. It can be resized using Openscad or your slicer. It acts like the lid on a petri dish, keeping out dust and small critters. Four spheres were added to the make so as to lightly capture the rim of the cup. In the STL here, I did not include the bead around the rim shown in the Openscad documentation. This is part of a larger project to actually capture the lid so you can pick up your drink. Problem is that project is more of a gadget than an actual workable entity and requires a lot of filament. I love this version, simple, functional easy to find and use. I've made several on a Voxelab Aquila. No supports are needed if you lay it on the lid top during slicing. Thanks. If you want to design something more complex, like the cam ring operated, rubber band tensioned, tang grabbing coffee cap (shown in the pink) , note the details are NOT given intentionally. I made this first prototype and it convinced me that simple was/is wonderfully better :) Problems with the cam ring idea: center of tang rotation needed be higher; and tangs should be nearly orthogonal to the cup; rubber band should not rub on the lid or on cam ring (hence the higher center of rotation to accommodate a higher position of the rubber band).... Be the first, amaze your friends, destroy a bucket load of time, resources,..and coffee?.. Ugh, no, f the cam ring (captured by the tangs) does not turn freely, moving the tangs in and out smoothly, the whole thing fails and will gladly drop your coffee on the floor if picked up by the lid..... Oops!! something more vise like is needed...
