Coffee Maker Indicator Light

Background

It was troublesome knowing when the coffee maker had finished making coffee since it was placed in another room from where I was sitting. Therefore I made this indicator light to show me when the coffee is ready to be consumed.

The logic of the system is to detect the power draw of the coffee maker using an Shelly Plug S and integrating it in Home Assistant. From there I wrote an automation that turns the light red during the coffee making and green when the machine has finished brewing the coffee. The indicator light is controlled from a Nodemcu with ESP32 flashed with the WLED software.

Model description

The indicator light consists of two parts, the bottom plate and the top plate, where you can customize it with your own logos if you wish. The coffee cup logo was found at: https://fontawesome.com/icons/mug-hot?s=solid.

Model dimentions

Length: 100 mm

Width: 100 mm

Height: 17 mm

Print settings

Layer height: 0.20 mm

Infill: 20 %

Brim: Yes

No supports

The .step file for the whole design is also included, so feel free to tweak the individual parts to your needs. Enjoy!
