Cold Heart

Cold Heart

thingiverse

An entry for the remix challenge that is sure to warm the heart of a loved one in the winter. For those that live in the cold temperatures and have that white fluffy stuff, you can create a heart shaped snow ball and leave one or many around the yard, on the car, or even making a path. Included is a special insert and an additional mold half that allows for the special inset with an additional message.(not to be thrown!!) Designed to take full advantage of the 200 x 200 of a Prusa i3, you can scale the size to 50% - 60% for a more manageable sized heart snow ball. Models were created in Wings3D and Blender. I am still learning to use blender and like the ease of modeling in Wings3D Disclaimer: Throwing snow balls at loved ones does not always warm their hearts as stated above. Use as a snowball at your own risk.. More images of final prints to follow. Print Settings Printer: FolgerTech Acrylic Prusa i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: I used 40% Notes: Due to the large flat size of the print, I do like to use Rafts to make removal easier. This is not required. Custom Section Inspiration The inspiration comes from the snowman maker and the a desire to create something for my wife for our 17th anniversary, which is the end of December. She is always leaving messages in the snow for me, and this will be my turn to leave a special message for her. Update #1 Updated the Mold_Bottom-W_Insert to better fit the Insert. After printing the mold bottom I found that the insert did not fit well and this is when I remembered one of the rules of designing parts that fit together. Don't try to have a perfect fit if one is not needed.... Not sure why I did not design the models this way in the first place. Working on the mold bottom a second time for images. I will updated when finished. Added the Thing# to the file names to better find the source of the files if needed.
