This is a collet based telescope adapter for a smartphone. The collet sleeve is designed to be glued to the back of a smartphone case, so the telescope eyepiece can be repeatably positioned with the collet. The nut has 4 threads to aid in expedient eyepiece changes, and the collet is sized to fit most standard 1.25 inch telescope eyepieces. No supports were needed during printing, as all overhangs are small, and well supported from below. Post-Printing Smoothing Post processing may be required on the inner and outer surfaces of the collet, as well as on the inner tapered surface of the collet sleeve to allow the collet to clamp the eyepiece effectively. Fine grit sandpaper worked well for this. Without this step, the collet can only move one print layer at a time over the sleeve. Because of this, optimal clamping may not be achieved and the eyepiece may slip.
