Communion Cup

Communion Cup

thingiverse

I love that I live in a nerdy town and go to a small church! My pastor found out that I got a 3D printer and commissioned a communion cup. This is what I came up with for my first ever self designed 3D print. I was originally trying to max out the build volume of my printer, so the model is quite large. I ended up printing it at 75% scale to be a more reasonable size. I printed it in wood filament to make it a little more authentic, but anything would work. The tight resolution is due to the shallow angles and vertical curved surfaces. Anything larger would have shown significant stepping on the surface at the shallow angles. NOTE!!! I had to print with 0.2mm horizontal expansion in Cura in order for the scripture text to fully print (SketchUp didn't want to let me thicken the text in the CAD file). I'm also including a small section of the scripture reference for testing print settings to make sure the text prints properly.
