compact 3D printer, Ultimaker style

Hello, The goal of this project is to create a compact 3D printer, where printing volume is as close as possible to the overall volume of the printer. My assumptions: - Ultimaker-like head movement mechanism, - standard components, easy to obtain (pulleys, rods, belts, bearings etc.) - Stationary heatbed - gantry moved also in Z direction - magnetic heatbed from Prusa MK2/MK3. - printing area: at least 200x200 mm, 220x200 already, 220 mm in Z direction. Size can be adapted. - printer size: 335x335x350 mm. Will fit IKEA Kallax bookshelf. - easy to create a closed chamber - stiff frame for fast printing - Bondtech direct extruder - Gantry is being moved up and down by a single motor (with gearing made of pulleys and belt). Will be dragged from all four sides. - 3D touch for bed positioning. - only 2 belt loops. The rods (linear rails) will also seve as vertical support for the frame. If it turns out, that the frame is not stiff enough, then I would use the supports made of alloy profiles. The power supply and the main board will be placed on the back side of the printer, between the motors. I want to make the mechanisms as optimal as possible, but without compromises regarding printing speed - I want to make the printer as fast as possible as well :) Stay tuned, Fimek
