I designed a conversion kit for X55-X56 joystick family by Saitek/Logitech. Especially ideal when aiming to use it on a Playseat Challenge between the legs. I based my design on the version by user @Taumelscheibe : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3206931 On the unmodified version, there are weights inside the base. Once the conversion kit is installed, the only part destroyed is the top cover, the rest is intact. To cut the plastic, I used my Dremel with a cutting bit (tool #194 on the Dremel website), with a steady and continuous motion. If you apply the pressure steps by steps, the plastic with jam around the bit. Be careful of course to not touch the cable, and unplug it before ! The dovetail saddle is using the standard seen on different brands, it's the one used on K&F brand, Neewer brand, etc... (on Amazon). It's usually a -roughly- 40 mm metal or plastic block, but some of them are a bit longer for heavier setup. The side of the countersunk screws on the saddle are placed to reinforce the jaw grip on the tripod, so you don't have to worry of the part delaminating under load. Bill of material : 4 x Countersunk Screw - Iso2009 / ISO 10642 M6-30 + Nuts. 4 x Socket Screw - Iso4762 M6-16 + Nuts.
