I wasn't quite happy with the ergonomics of the v1, so I remade it from scratch. Compared to previous version:

it's thinner - 18mm wide instead of 20, and

it's not as long to allow the fingers to wrap more around it and provide better grip

the rounded parts have a smaller radius and the edges are less sharp

the “hook” keeping your little finger away from the saw is longer and doesn't make a pressure point

the back is rounded to fit the palm better

the “hook” on top is less pronounced as not to cut into the thumb webbing

there are slight finger grooves to indicate the correct grip

a bit larger cutout to allow access to the hex nut for saw blade tightening

instead of melt-in inserts it has recesses for hex nuts, which should be more accessible - a version with inserts is available also

Cut the standard handle off (of course ONLY after testing if the new handle fits - these saws look same to me, but it doesn't mean all the dimensions are), reverse the saw blade, replace the wingnut with a normal nut and mount this grip. Use M4 hex nuts (or heat-set threaded inserts, depending on which version you download) and M4x12 internal hex cylinder screws to assemble. Both end s of the screws/insert should end up being pretty much flush with the surface. This is nearly as compact as a metal saw can be. The grip is designed to be held by three fingers, with the index finger along the bow to provide you with a better feel for direction and feedback. Guide the front as usual.
