Competizione PS5 Driving Wheel

This is a PS5 controller snap-on driving wheel meant for ultimate performance. Tolerances are very tight to eliminate play and sloppiness. All parts are 3D printable, but supports are needed. For the best tolerances, the user must post-process the parts with a file or sandpaper to make the fit of the steering column and yoke very tight. When properly assembled, this controller clip-on steering wheel is the next best thing to an actual steering wheel. Printing best results: 1) Print the frame on the flat side (RH), blocking supports in the mic and USB-C ports 2) Print the steering yoke/wheel face downwards, gear upwards. Supports under the gear are needed, but can be minimal 3) Print the steering rack with the gear down and the joystick ring upwards 4) Print the PS button pin in multiples of 3 or more, separated by a few cm to improve the pin cooling as it is printed - if it is printed in PLA by itself, the end will be melted and blobby 5) For maximum rigidity, print with >50% infill 6) This prints fine in PLA and ABS (that is all I have tried) 7) This should print well in resin, the tolerances should be very close to ideal 8) The steering column pin, PS button pin, and holes in the frame and yoke take a little post-processing to fit properly. a) For the steering column and PS button pins, trim off any ridges so they are perfectly round, and sand for best smooth movement b) For the holes in the steering yoke/wheel and frame, use sandpaper, a round file, or [best] a 9.1mm (23/64") drill to clear out the hole so the steering column pin fits *slightly* loose - not wobbly, just loose enough to allow the yoke/wheel to turn easily. 9) Some minimal post processing can be done to the steering rack, but it generally should fit well if printed well. The rack should be loose enough to allow the LH stick to self-center. Light sanding may be needed. An example 3MF and STL with all parts on the stage are included. This was printed on an Anycubic Vyper in generic PLA at 'normal' settings (0.15mm) with supports. To attach on the PS5 controller: 1) Slide the steering rack into the frame unit from the LH side 2) Hook the frame bottom end (facing the user) to the controller and rotate forward/up 3) Pull the LH stick backward and rotate the frame/rack assembly forward, making sure to get the LH stick into the loop of the steering rack 4) Continue to rotate the frame forward/up until the top end hooks over the top of the controller 5) Push the top end down until it clicks and pull up slightly so the ridge clicks into the gap between the touchpad and the controller body 6) Slide the steering yoke/wheel into the gear from the rear, so that it is level when the LH stick is centered 7) Insert the steering column pin (the one with the hole in it) and push all the way down 8) Insert the PS button pin into the hole in the steering column pin 9) Enjoy! Further improvements could be made in the printability and ergonomics, but for now this is a very acceptable device. The Blender source file is included for everyone's benefit. Feel free to remix, modify, update, improve, and share. Thanks for checking this out!
