Compound Planetary Gears

Compound Planetary Gears

thingiverse

A planetary gear set for demonstration purposes. It includes a compound gear train between the sun and the ring. The 16 tooth sun drives a 24 tooth change gear that has 16 teeth on the bottom. An idler gear connects the output of the change gear to the ring gear which has 72 teeth. I tried to make things fit a bit loose so it would not bind up when assembled. The collar goes over the shaft for the arm and should be placed before the change gears are added. If the ring is held stationary, the gear ratio between the arm and the sun is approximately 5.75:1 Gear ratio calculations can be found at: https://www.bitchute.com/video/oRgt0GAKvf96/
