Compression spring

Compression spring

thingiverse

This is a simple compression spring able to handle between 1 and 1.5 kg of pressure. The structure is a print in place where the inner and outer tube are printed at the same time. This way the 2 components can't be separated. After adding the spring, the mechanism is closed by screwing on the top part onto the bottom part. The spring is printed in a coil of 5 springs. Each spring serves as support for the next one. It yields a very nice result which could otherwise (without using this stacking technique), never be accomplished. Everything is printed with 0.2 layer height. Only the spring coil requires some support and a little brim to keep everything standing up. The structural parts don't require supports or brims.
