As follow-on from the parabolic trough model Parabolic Trough I have modelled a CSP unit fitted with 3 parabolic troughs or collectors. Each of these are of the following dimensions. Parabolic Collector Metric Imperial Width 600 mm 24” Depth 100mm 4” Focal point 228mm 9” Length 3000mm 118” Area of face 1.827 m2 1.827 m2 Watts Generated 2466 w 2466w Assuming that w/m2 = 1350w Total Power Generated by the unit 7399.7271 Did the calculations (a little bit of addition nothing serious) after I built the model. Should really have designed it to the 10 kW mark but it needs a lot of work still, and I do appreciate constructive criticism so feel free. (1st attempt must try harder) Should tidy things up in CSP Unit Part 2 or…………………..CSP Unit the sequel.......... "it could go that far" I have uploaded a zip file with some useful programs and an excellent Excel spreadsheet produced by a really nice guy called Walter Jacques from Oklahoma City.
