1:100 model of the Conestoga 1620 rocket. Developed by Space Services Inc. of America, this rocket features 7 Castor IV SRBs and a Star-48 upper stage. The rocket would light only 4 of the outer boosters, light the last 2 outer boosters later in the flight, light the final core SRB once the others have burnt out and finally, finishes off with the Star upper stage. This rocket only saw one launch attempt on October 23rd 1995 out of wallops Virginia. 46 seconds into the flight the vehicle broke apart due to guidance issues and depletion of its hydraulic fluid. This rocket stands as the start of the age of private launch vehicles.
