I wanted a non-scratching bottom for my favorite mug. Its a light press fit onto the bottom of the mug after you remove the original bottom. There are 5mm holes in the bottom of the cover that I put 5mm O-ring cord into and then snipped just proud of the surface, to provide a steady non rocking 3 points of contact.
