Cooler Master Elite 110 - Dual 3.5" HDD Bracket

<p>The Cooler Master Elite 110 Mini-ITX case is a decent inexpensive case. However it only fits 3x 3.5” HDD. This bracket fits 2x 3.5” HDD on the side for a total 4x 3.5” HDD. Perfect for a mini-ITX NAS build.</p><p>Print the main bracket in ABS or PET using 0.20 Normal profile. The bracket has 8 holes to attach to the case and 8 notches for two HDD. The 8 holes align with the 2.5” mounting holes on the Elite 110 case. The 8 notches are using SFF-8301 spacing and should work with any 3.5” HDD.</p><p>Pre-tap the 8 mounting holes in the bracket with the hex-head screws that came with the case. It’s a lot easier to do this before installing it into the case. You only want to go in a few turns to get the thread started then remove the screws and install into the case. Make sure the bracket doesn’t interfere with any rivets or plastic plugs.</p><p><strong>IMPORTANT: the hex-head screws must NOT poke through the bracket. Make sure you use screws that are short to avoid this. Otherwise the screws could damage the electronics on the HDD.</strong></p><p>Now attach 4x pan-head screws to the HDD through the printed collars. I used pan-heads with 7mm OD heads and 3.5mm shaft. The collars and pan-heads together form a “T-shape” which sits snugly in the notch, keeping the drives firmly in place even when shaken or held upside-down. Print the collars in ABS with 1 wall and 0.15 Optimal profile and Thin Wall Detection.</p><p>Now slip the HDD onto the bracket by aligning the 4 pan-heads with the 4 notches and push down firmly to lock into place. The collar should fit snugly in the notch, but not too tight so it needs excessive force. Give it a wiggle test to instil confidence before installing the rest of the PC components and cabling.</p>
