The ormerod 2 comes with an acrylic piece (781) to attach a cooling fan. Sans shroud i decided to put it to use and design my own for use together with a 40x40x10 akasa fan. Print Settings Printer: Ormerod 2 528.4 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm up past the nose and then the rest at 0.2mm Infill: 25% Archimedean Chords Notes: Vertical shells: 3 layers Horizontal shells Top: 3 layers Horizontal shells Bottom: 3 layers Filament: Verbatim white PLA 1.75mm Hotend temperature: 185°C Heated bed temperature: 65°C Post-Printing The upper hole on my print sagged due to printing with no cooling fan. It was drilled out with a 3mm drill. It will hinge between the acrylic part and the EM shield. To further tether it to the acrylic piece, cut a length of Q-tip and insert into one/both holes on the side. How I Designed This The ormerod hotend was first drawn up and assembled in solidworks so i had a "go no-go" area to work around.
