This is a desk-piece to commemorate the Coopers Rock, WV 2021 50K ultramarathon held on 8/21/2021, by the Coopers Rock Foundation: https://coopersrock.org/ Prints without rafts or supports. Of course, your experience may vary. Included two versions; One with text, and one with just the mountain. I used Iowa State's TouchTerrain to export the mountain, removed some excess terrain using Fusion360, then added text with TinkerCAD. Link to the MAP section included in the print, with Z-scale exaggerated x3.5. I used 0.4mm nozzle size on the export to keep the file-size down on touchterrain: https://touchterrain.geol.iastate.edu/?trlat=39.65885175085193&trlon=-79.78527695945051&bllat=39.61416897967287&bllon=-79.8478171329811&DEM_name=USGS/NED&tilewidth=100&printres=0.4&ntilesx=1&ntilesy=1&DEMresolution=21.48&basethick=1&zscale=3.5&fileformat=STLb&maptype=roadmap&gamma=1&transp=20&hsazi=315&hselev=45&map_lat=39.6609804207379&map_lon=-79.7920853&map_zoom=13 More about Coopers Rock: WEST VIRGINIA'S LARGEST AND MOST-VISITED STATE FOREST Coopers Rock is West Virginia’s largest state forest, with over 12,000 acres. It is also one of the state’s most-visited forests, with easy access via I-68 to major population areas including Morgantown, WV (home of West Virginia University) and Pittsburgh, PA. Best known for spectacular views of the Cheat River Canyon and world-class rock climbing, Coopers Rock also offers miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and cross-country skiing. The forest includes a campground, pavilions, a playground, and a fishing pond. It is home to a diverse ecosystem of plants and animals (including threatened species), and is rich in history, with a 19th-century iron furnace and numerous stone structures built in the 1930′s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. PROMOTING PRESERVATION AND RECREATION FOR A 3-STATE REGION The Coopers Rock Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation founded in 1989. The foundation’s dual mission is to promote preservation and recreation in Coopers Rock State Forest and nearby Snake Hill Wildlife Management Area. Each year, CRF volunteers invest hundreds of hours in a wide range of activities, including cleanup, maintenance, and improvement of structures and trails; year-round activities and events; habitat restoration; outreach and education; and recreation advocacy. CRF members care about the future of the forest, and help ensure Coopers Rock will remain one of the finest places for outdoor recreation in a region that encompasses Northern West Virginia, Western Maryland, and Southern Pennsylvania.
