SummaryI've been using cord reels purchased from home depot for holding my filament. I realized they were sized pretty nicely to fit on top of the machine but unfortunately the extruder hits them when it's all the way up and I was also worried it would fall off after a while. So, these are clips that attach to the top of your makerbot (they are designed for my Thing-O-Matic, not sure if they'll work on the cupcake). You can then snap the cord reel into them and they hold it pretty securely and raise it up about 50mm.InstructionsI included two STLs, one is 6mm thick and one is 19mm thick. If you want to save time, you can print 2 of each and it seems to be plenty sturdy. If you have 4 or 5 hours to spare you can print 4 of the 19mm ones for a sturdier setup. All you need to do is print them out, clip them on your makerbot and snap the spool in. The cord reels I'm using are Commercial Electric 150ft reels (PN 280-984). You can modify the openscad file if you want to make different thickness versions or for a slightly different cord reel.
