Core A8 V2 Carriage Belt Mod

Core A8 V2 Carriage Belt Mod

I'm no longer working on this project, as the CoreA8 now has a new design that makes it unnecessary. However, I'll keep the original design here for anyone who wants to tinker with it or still uses the old design. This experiment aims to enhance the V2 carriage of the Core A8 by allowing the belts and tensioning system to be installed separately from the carriage. This should make it easier to remove and replace the carriage without having to deal with the belts. Update: When I went to install this new design, I realized that all of the wiring was running through the carriage hole, which meant I'd have to undo the wrap and disconnect the wires from the board. Instead of going through that hassle, I designed a new carriage with several improvements: a slot for the wiring to slide through and an offset hole for the belt mount bolt, which makes it easier to center. While working on this design, I also modified the Anet cooling adapter so that the carriage can be removed more easily when it's already mounted. Additionally, the belt slots are not as tight as those in the previous or V2 versions, but they still hold firmly. The idea is to set up the belts first, adjusting their length and tension, then slip them through a slot on the side of the carriage. The assembly goes inside the carriage and is secured by a 42mm long bolt that passes through the top of the carriage, an anchor, and finally secures with a nut at the bottom.
