Corner chamfering jig

Corner chamfering jig

myminifactory

Useful jig for chamfering corners while woodworking. It is designed for a 1/2 inch chisel. The body angle of the chisel can be adjusted with the set screws on top. The block where the chisel can be moved back and forth, so you can choose how big you wnat your chamfer to be. The jig maintains the chisel always at the same distance from the wood, therefore the results is a consistent chamfer, instead of a wobbly line. It is designed specifically for 90º, however, I don't see why you couldn't use with acute angles. Holding it could be tricky though. I printed it in PBS as it is more durable. One of the small blocks contain custom surpports, which are easy to remove oncre printed. The hardware I used is M3 and M4 screws and nuts. Individual printer tolerances may allow to use imperial screws. When available, choose smaller rather than larger hardware. All nuts are DIN 934. M3 screws (DIN 7991), 10 mm, are used to hold both chisel blocks together. The M4 screws (DIN 7991), 20 mm, hold the chisel with the main block, allowing it to move back and forth when loosening them. The set screws (DIN 913) are M4 (10 mm) and contain a set of nuts to decrease the stress in the plastic when holding the chisel. Show your results and provide feedback if any issue.   Good luck!
