COVID-19 Mask Cap, Bane Edition

*UPDATE: Having seen some better reference images, I tinkered with the tubes to make them more accurate. These optional; look at the versions with "_Detailed" in the name and you'll see what I mean. I've found them to print cleanly when rotated to be mostly vertical and using Cura's "super quality" setting (0.12mm layer height), which is especially important so tubes with the meshy/knobby pattern can be dry-brushed to show that unique pattern. Someday I'll paint mine up to share so you know what to expect when drybrushing. Maybe.* *Includes LaFactoria3D's original mask parts that this is designed to fit. It's a good design, but if you feel their updated version provides better protection I urge you to use it instead.* Replacement cap for LaFactoria3D's COVID-19 MASK -------------------------------------------------------------------- While printing mask parts for *Lowell Makes* I wanted to find some way to help healthcare workers relieve some stress. Making replaceable caps seems the best way to offer an adjustment; these clip right onto existing masks without interfering with function and maybe they can lighten the mood in pediatrics. This is my second mask: the Bane version. It clips in place of the existing cap, doesn't interfere with airflow, and fits under most face shields. I wouldn't suggest using it for cosplay as I made some serious adjustments to conform to the base, and had to increase the size of the mesh opening to increase ventilation. I printed the bases for mine almost vertical, but tipped back just a little bit. You can also print it on its back and facing upwards, but that increases the stairstepping pattern rounding the top of the curves. If you rotate the tubes vertically they'll look cleaner around the circumference but you know if your printer can handle taller prints without knocking away the supports, etc. While I'm sure you can assemble the tubing part yourself, how to assemble the LaFactoria masks efficiently and what to look for in filtration materials can be found here, thanks to GiveWave Studios: https://youtu.be/9ItpExBEieY If you find any issues with it or think of ways to improve its design, please let me know. Feel free to modify this and share it to the community.
