This is an example, for educational use only. These are not appropriate for treating any medical/health condition and are quite dangerous, as they can pop apart, suffer from layer adhesion problems, have pieces of material pass through the airway, etc.. I designed these to show how filters can be designed with two-parts overlapping, to allow tolerance for various materials to be placed/pinched between the two as the filter layer, while the pegs can either pop into place or the parts assembled and twisted. Also, because the design is for assembling the two pieces then twisting into position, care must be taken for proper alignment, lest they falsely seem connected, but they're ready to pop apart. They're too dangerous, and not approved, for medical use. Printing: I printed prototypes in ABS with .33mm layer height, and ~.4mm (actually auto) extrusion width. Were I to use these I would test, then likely Acetone-vapor smooth them which would increase their strength. The 15mm male prong is particularly susceptible to torque and a tube could snap it off, depending on print quality. (Mine, fresh from the print 1/2 hour ago, aren't able to be broken by hand even when really trying).
