The z-endstop makes it easy to adjust the bed height precisely. This way it is possible make small adjustments, and to select a height where the springs for the corner screws work best. The y-endstop allows you to move back the endstop. Mine had to be moved back about 5mm in-order to center the bed. It is a little difficult to adjust but it does not need to be very precise. The z-endstop requires a M4 locknut and a 30mm M4 screw. (I only had a 20mm M4 screw, and that works too). The bracket for the switch will need an extra T-nut and M3 or M4 screw, my printer came with extras that could be used. The y-endstop does not need new hardware. My printer is a CR-10 40S.
