CR-10 Z axis Brace

CR-10 Z axis Brace

Here is a simple Z axis brace for the CR-10 I modelled in Fusion 360. It mounts behind the Z axis extrusion on the right side, out of the way. I used 1/2 dia aluminum rod drilled and tapped for 1/4-20 in each end but any stiff material could be used. The easiest material to find and work with would be 1/2 inch hardwood dowel pilot drilled in the ends for wood screws. I used a 13 1/2 in long rod because I had a few on hand but a 21 inch rod would reach the top of the Z axis. You will need 4 M4 drop in T-nuts for standard 20 MM profile extrusion, 4 M4 x 14 Socket head Capscrews and 2 low head or button head 1/4-20 screws. T-nuts can be found here: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01DB8BJHU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or here: https://www.amazon.com/BQLZR-European-Standard-Aluminum-Extrusion/dp/B01KJPNE4E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1517758894&sr=8-1&keywords=BQLZR+Silver+Carbon+Steel+Hammer+Head+Drop+In+T+Nuts+M4
