X axis stepper motor and limit switch is made out of a semi hard plastic. So in my experiance: when i did some maintnance and tightnened the screws. al four of the corners broke. so had to replace them. PLA is perfect to replace with. but insure to tighten the screws after some prints for tight tolerance.
