CR6 SE 4020 fan adapter (for original hotend cover)

thingiverse

4020 fan adapter that fits inside the original CR6 hotend cover. Provides a lot more airflow so the fan doesn't need to run at 100% all the time (40% is about the power of the original fan). It is required that you remove the upper part of the original fan duct and replace it with the printed part. You might also need to change the polarity on the fan's plug, but check that for your specific fan. I connected the parts with PLA rivets, just set one end on fire and squish it with a spoon or another piece of metal (see pictures for that). The holes for mounting the assembled fan to the metal cover maybe need to be drilled out, but its just a press fit, so be careful with that (the part on the picture is broken, don't get distracted by that). You might need to bend over the little lip on the cover that prevents the fan from sitting flush. Mounting the cover after installing the fan is a little tricky but it works. ***Please note that this is a work in progress and the design might be further iterated***
