Craftsman Snowblower Chute Worm Gear

This is an accurate CAD model of a Craftsman Snowblower Chute Worm Gear. The CAD model was designed in Solidworks 2013. The renders were composed in Photoview 360.The specific model numbers of this part:Craftsman 585196MAMurray 585196Murray 585196MAThe last snowstorm was pretty brutal and damaged the worm gear that allows me to control the direction of the snowblower chute. I decided to CAD the worm gear up in case I needed to machine a replacement worm gear out of delrin. Full disclosure: I thickened the portion of the worm gear near the fork geometry. I was surprised how little material was designated to hold the fork geometry to the remainder of the worm gear. The depth of the inside cavity is not an important to the overall function of the worm gear, as it sits in a plastic cradle and rotates about the stepped groove toward the end of the worm gear.
