I used Taulman 910 Black, I am sure other similar materials can be used. Make the Cranford strap on step wider (1-1/8") Press fit and design of step keeps the cover on - You can use a zip tie or similar if you are concerned about the step falling off. RELEASE AND WARNINGS Every year serious injury and even death occur from hunting-related falls. There is a risk of falling when using 3D products. To help protect yourself, please COMPLETELY read and follow this safety manual and ALL warning labels and videos associated with all products you use. Always read, watch, and understand all warnings and instructions before using any climbing equipment. Failure to read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions may result in serious injury or death. ALWAYS inspect your equipment for signs of wear as failure can occur at any time. Inspect straps for fray and buckles and steps for signs of stress or failure before each use. ALWAYS wear a Fall Arrest System (FAS) consisting of a full-body harness with a lineman’s belt after leaving the ground. You MUST stay connected at all times after leaving the ground. If you are not wearing a FAS that meets TMA standards, DO NOT leave the ground. Failure to wear a proper FAS can result in serious injury or even death. ALWAYS have a plan for if you should have a product failure, nothing lasts forever. ALWAYS exercise weapon safety when climbing. DO NOT leave your steps or straps in the elements while you are not hunting. This system is designed to be put up and taken down with each use. Extended exposure to the sun and the elements will degrade the strength of materials over time resulting in failure. NEVER use a tree-climbing aid while under the influence of alcohol, medication, or illegal substances. Using this climbing aid while under the influence of any of these substances may result in serious injury or even death. NEVER climb, dead or leaning trees as they may break or fall, and never climb utility poles. NEVER fire a weapon from the while climbing. NEVER exceed manufacturer listed total weight when climbing with this system. NEVER substitute or use any other steps than the one identified for the design. DO NOT USE WHILE STUPID, if you are stupid well there's no hope for you sorry, DO NOT USE THIS DESIGN, If you don't know if your stupid FOR YOUR SAKE ASK SOMEONE! All Seriousness You assume all liability as this is not an approved climbing device/attachment. If you can't assume this liability walk away.
