UPDATE New version 2.2 (more bleow)
This print uses Voodoo magic and a 1mm nozzle to enhance print speed while still producing a good quality finish.

This print uses Voodoo magic to enhance print speed while still producing a good quality finish.

ATTENTION!!!
These files only slice with Cura 2.4 which is not available anymore. but you can Download my installation from here:
https://we.tl/t-vpmwlS0oSR

Cura 2.4 is needed for the Voodoo to work. The bug breaking my magic is unfixed for years now but here is all you need to
print face shields crazy fast.

It uses the "surface mode" feature from the experimental section which moves the nozzle on the middle of the surface instead of inside the boundary's of a closed object. With that I have almost full control over the movement of the nozzle. It is my specialty to make models that can be printed in one go without traveling at all. So you can print fast and still have a good finish.

If you print in PLA there is gcode for that in the "user print files"

There is also a version for a 1mm nozzle:
https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/29052-1mm-voodoo-faceshield-v34

The print time for the .4mm nozzle is about 40 minutes and for the 1mm nozzle about 18 minutes

there are curaprofiles for PETG and PLA. feel free to tweak.
https://we.tl/t-TRwgcw6C4N

Another important thing:
for some reason this fails with even slightly damp PLA. Freschly opened rolls from "Das Filament" worked fine but older ones and other brands had seperated perimeters.
so check your results before producing garbage.
once set up the product is great!

The attached gcode is for a Anet A8 and PETG
If you print in PLA there is gcode for that in the "user print files"

And please take the time to rate and comment.

Update V2.20 April 7th 2020
There was a fatal bug in the design wich effected the stability when printing in PLA. if you printed the first version in PLA check your parts. the "flaps" kept breaking off while putting the shield on. PETG parts should be fine. New version is testet with PLA and while PETG is still much more flexible using PLA is now akzeptable.

The Cura link and the updated curaprofiles are separateed now

Print instructions

Layer height: 0.3
line width: 0.7
outer wall speed: 50
fan: off
surface mode: surface
spiralize outer contour: true
z seam alignment: user specified
z seam x: 100
z seam x: 0
