Quick mount for CR-10 laser, adapted to make it easy to use household pens/markers as plotters, and to allow use of flexible Dremel adapter as light-duty engraver/etcher. For Laser: I wanted to be able to mount the laser in a way that would make it easy to add and remove, yet not affect the stock hotend mount. This design uses four 5 mm M3 bolts threaded into the laser housing to keep the laser in place, two 10 mm M3 screws to hold the mount to the x-carriage, and a 1/4-20 bolt cut to 15 mm long to hold attach the laser to the mount. I made a bolt adapter and cap to help make this a tool-less mount. This mount positions the laser approximately 25 mm higher than the nozzle, which allows enough room to adjust the focus of the laser while it's etching. For Plotter: There was a discussion recently on using a 3D printer as a plotter, and I realized that my laser mount could be adapted to hold a pen or marker. All it needed was a few more holes to allow a flexible mounting system, with a pressure plate to hold the pen, 4 M3-M4 bolts and washers, and a backplate (or you can use small washers). I printed my pressure plate with TPU, but you can use other filaments and a layer of felt, rubber, cork, or other interface to allow easy adjustment of pen height. For plotting, simply create a single layer print (or use your slicer to only print the first layer), and enable z-hop during retraction, and set a large enough value to allow the pen/marker to clear the paper. Depending on your pen/marker size, you may want to set an x-offset around 40 mm and y offset around 20 mm to allow for the fact that the pen will be offset to the left and in front of the nozzle. For Dremel, use the longer mount and pressure plate to hold the Dremel flexible shaft adapter in place. 10-14-2019: Added spacers that can be clipped on the x-gantry above the z-axis limit switch to keep the nozzle from hitting the bed when using the laser, pen, or Dremel attachments.
