Designed to adapt Creality Spider hotend with improved cooling, 4020 ball bearing blower and BMG direct extruder into standard CR-200B printhead. Installation does not require drilling or any other printer alteration and is fully reversible! Required materials: 0) CR-200B 1) Creality Spider hotend, aluminum heatsink option (not the high flow one) __Since the original hotend heatsink is only 12mm wide and the Spider has 16mm, 2mm are to be cut from one side to ensure concentricity with CR200B feeding hole. Please refer to the attached photos. I used a mill, but it's not too difficult to file the extra aluminum__ 2) 4020 24V blower fan for improved cooling performance 3) BMG geared extruder. I had my printer upgraded with full metal BMG before, now it moved to the head. 4) NEMA17 23mm stepper, or a slimmer/lighter one compatible with BMG mounting holes. 5) 2x M3x20 screws for fixing the pins 6) Soldering tools and skills to connect the new fan instead of the old sqeaky 4010 7) Around 70cm of ribbon cable to extend extruder cable up to the printer head. Otherwise, the cable can be replaced as a whole. CR-200B motherboard uses 4-pin 2mm connectors, motor side connectors can be different. 8) About 8cm of 4/1.9 bowden feeder tube to guide the filament. Top side of the tube needs to be centered in the BMG's outlet - use tape or print some spacer. Adjust extruder motor current to avoid overheating of the smaller stepper. cr200b-head is an integral part accommodating the original 4010 axial hotend cooler and new 4020 blower. It also focuses the airflow for better hotend cooling, which was not addressed in the original CR-200B head design. The head can be used in either bowden or direct drive configuration. Spider full-metal hotend with improved cooling give significant print quality even without direct drive. cr200b-clamp is for fixing the wires from the left of the printing head using the original M2,5 tapped holes and screws. This part is to be used after cr200b-head is mounted. cr200b-bmg-direct accommodates NEMA17-23 (or compatible) stepper and BMG extruder. This part is to be fixed on top of the printing head by mean of two M2,5 screws and two cr200b-pin pins that are to be inserted from behind. Print two pins and use them like drywall inserts with M3x20 screws, locking cr200b-bmg-direct in its position. Alternatively, cr200b-bmg-direct can be screwed to the top of the printhead, which needs to be drilled and tapped, should you wish to go this way. cr200b-duct part is provided for backward compatibility, allowing to return your printer to its original state while keeping the 4020 blower. It can be mounted instead of 4010 into the same holes, but requires this duct to steer the airflow. Use superglue to attach the duct to fan. There is no change in printer working area with 23mm stepper. Thinner steppers may provide additional margin on X-axis. It is recommended to position the stepper with connector facing downwards so it won't be hitting the walls. Updated on March 17th 2023 with more accurate dimensions for BMG mount and square pin holes.
