Creality Filament Runout Sensor with Roller Switch

Creality Filament Runout Sensor with Roller Switch

I have re-worked the filament runout sensor that comes with the Creality CR10S to use a miniature microswitch that has a roller on it instead of the stock switch. The problem with the stock switch is the metal lever wears out with the filament rubbing through the sensor. This causes the switch to randomly fail. I found some miniature roller micro-switches on eBay that are the exact same switch physically that are used on the Creality filament runout sensor circuit board. The eBay item number is: 153757769751 To replace the switch on the board, carefully clip the leads that go from the old switch to the circuit board just at the bend in the terminal. Then unscrew the old switch from the board. Carefully, screw the new switch onto the board, taking care not to strip the screw holes. Then Solder the leads of the switch to the leads coming up from the board. PAY ATTENTION to how the switch is oriented on the board. The roller lever should face in the same direction as the metal lever on the old switch. The roller should go toward the OUTPUT of the filament, not the input. Failure to orient the switch correctly will result in a short circuit on the main controller board and it will kill the 5 volt circuit. You board will not power up.
