My take on additional filtration capacity for the Creality Halot-One. This 100mm tower based on the bolt pattern of a typical 40mm case fan - supports a variety of different filtration medias, all of which can be easily procured from local stores. With a 400% increase capacity the fumes generated from the the resin printing process are GREATLY reduced, lessening the impact on your health and the over all discomfort from the smell. I was surprisingly impressed with how effective this was as a solution. Creality's solution for filtration uses activated carbon which essentially goes bad after so many uses. Recognizing this, Creality's solution does not make is easy to procure nor replace the carbon filter. My take on filtration will resolve these issues enabling the replacement of media more often with less effort. Constructive Feedback: 1) I was shocked with the available solutions on thingiverse in which many of them approached filtration with a close loop system - essentially blocking off the output of air from the main chamber in which reduces fumes in the "outside" air while capturing the fumes inside the chamber ...while also trying to filter it. Not only will this build a concentrate of hazardous fumes - all of which will hit you when the chamber is lifted at the end of the print but this completely defeats the function of a fan - hypothetically creating a vacuum in which fans don't work well in. 2) More is not better – I also noted many designs where the filter tower was designed with filtration holes throughout the full tower (4 sides and top). Conceptually this sounds like a good idea but in reality the 40mm fan is only going to be able to put out what it can take in – just because there is more holes persay doesn’t mean they will be more filtration. With my design simple was better, keeping the static pressure of the fan the same, forcing all the fumes through the media in the tower. NOTE: This was designed around the typical dimensions of a 40mm case fan, its very likely this will work on many other machines that use this type of fan.
