Create your atom model with laser cutting

thingiverse

Use this model to let your students create atoms, placing the right number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus and electrons around it. The model has a base that was made using 3 mm MDF board, that was cut and engraved. The pieces were made also using 3 mm MDF board that was painted with spray paint (red for protons and blue for neutrons). The electrons were made using colorless acrylic. I modified a deck of playing cards, printing and glueing the symbol, atomic number and mass of several isotopes. The students draw a card and assemble the model for the atom. There is a version in English and another in Portuguese.
