The Creature from the 1954 movie Creature from the Black Lagoon. Sculpted by Adam Beamish, with a few extra tweaks for 3D printing. See Adam's original at http://www.123dapp.com/creature/Creature/3380493 Instructions To prepare the model for printing, I cut the bottom to be flat and repaired the model in Netfabb. The "front/back" split version requires minimal support and is far easier to print; however, the original (repaired, flat bottom) model is also available if you want to try printing the model in one piece. I used Makerware "high" settings, support on, Glow in the Dark Green PLA. (Twice, I had difficulties with support material breaking loose and falling over while printing the one-piece version. I tried both Meshmixer custom supports and standard Makerware support.) For fun, there's also a version that includes just the top half of The Creature. Print and mount it on a black surface and it looks like it's rising out of the Black Lagoon!
