Cryptex for Betrayal at House on the Hill

Cryptex for Betrayal at House on the Hill

thingiverse

This thing is a parametric multi-rotor "cryptex" used to keep track of Betrayal at House on the Hill character scores. This "cryptex" is not a real cryptex in that it isn't a puzzle or lock of any kind although it looks similar to a cryptex. The rotors independently rotate about a central core indexed such that the faces click into position such that one face is always aligned to the "top". Included in this thing is a ruby program that creates a set of Betrayal at House on the Hill (http://avalonhill.wizards.com/games/betrayal-at-house-on-the-hill) game cryptex label(s). The labels need to be printed and glued to the rotors of the cryptex. Note that two M4 bolts are used to hold the cryptex together. The game is for three to six players who choose from twelve characters so at most six full cryptexes are usable during game play. Creating a full set of twelve rotors (with character names and scores) allow players to choose their favourite and quickly reset a cryptex by unscrewing a bolt and replacing the rotors.
